What would Queen Victoria say?
Our Governor General lately put President Sarko in France in his proper place in the best most diplomatic way with panache and her very personal style and sense of self.
By merely showing up, as the grandchild of Haitian slaves, as an immigrant, as Canada's Head of State she outclassed those that call for intolerant, discriminatory and separatist laws against immigrants in France and in Europe. Michaelle Jean even managed to alter the position of France on Quebec's sovereignty - calling now for unity with Canada.
Brava for our reigning Head of State, who accomplished more with her state visit than any prime minister could possibly dream.
Vicky would be so proud.
