What is the PM up to?

In an article in the weekend's Globe and Mail, the Prime Minister and the Senior Civil Service were characterized as "at War", since the advice given was not only being set aside, but so were the people who gave it.

Linda Keen is not the only casualty of the war declared on non-partisan public servants. Just because she had the safety of the public and civil servants at the Deep River Nuclear Plant in mind when she shut down the reactor for repairs and safety upgrades had little to do with Harper's agenda to serve the Industry's claim that loss of profits from nuclear isotopes' sales were more important than safety. The false "shortage" claims were manufactured to cover the profiteering.

Other civil servants who have been dealt career ending cuts include the Elections Canada commissioners who have strenuously looked into the financing of the Conservative Party's constituency races. The Science Commissioner who was, during the Liberal Government, appointed to oversee investments in science research and assure coordination and cooperation with little overlap and ensure sound applied science. His office has been abolished - because this government does not believe science is important - monitoring science is not important anymore because this government is NOT carrying out science - witness science investment cutbacks in Environment Canada, Canadian Wildlife Service, Natural Resources Canada. Science is being divested to universities. All very well, but science is also the purview of public investment - federal investment in the national interest.

The pollution commissioner was also abolished. Why? Because Environment Canada is not interested in monitoring pollution - but in monetizing pollution.

There are other examples. Read up and get organized. This government is not a government for the people, by the people, with the people. This government is all about Harper. Central control, central power.

I don't know about you, but I prefer DEMOCRACY - Autocracy is for some other guys - like Putin, or maybe China.
Let's take back our Canada.
